Bryan Cumby – Morning Routine For Lockdown

Morning

If you are currently in lockdown or you have the threat of another lockdown looming over your head then you may find yourself starting to get pretty panicked, and that is perfectly understandable. During the last lockdown I went through she similar emotions and it was actually a great video from the brilliant life coach Bryan Cumby which gave me the motivation to keep going. Bryan did a video on optimism and the importance of routine and that has contributed heavily to me getting myself sorted and picking up a morning routine which not only help me to stay optimistic during the quarantine, but it also greatly helped me to feel better about myself in general. Here is what my lockdown routine looked like, why not give it a try?

Positive Kickstart

In order to get started with my routine I decided that I needed to bring some positivity to my life and so I began by writing down 3 positive things which I had in my life. The rules were that I couldn’t copy my positive thing from previous days, they had to be new. This really helps you to reflect on life and it also gives you the sense that you have some very positive things happening, even if you don’t feel like it.

Stretching

Some people like to exercise in the morning which is fine, personally I much prefer afternoon exercise and it is something which I genuinely feel as though I get more from. With this being said, getting physical is a great way to start your day and that is why I decided that each morning I would have a good stretch session, which would ensure that I was limbered up and stretched out for the day ahead. This is a great way to get started.

Meditation

I know that some like to meditate at sunset rather than the morning but for me it always helps to start my day with pragmatism and with calmness. Meditation is a truly great way for you to start your day and to make sure that you have put your  mind in a positive and organized space.

Getting The Rays

I think that people greatly underestimate just how important it is to feel the sun on your skin as soon as you possibly can. Now of course not everyone is able to do this and it will depend on the weather, but even just opening your door and breathing in some fresh air is a great way for you to feel alive and to give your body the booster that it needs to kick start your day.

This is my morning routine, feel free to borrow it if you wish or why not go ahead and create one on your own? The beauty of this is that as soon as you have opened your eyes, you know what you have to do and where you have to focus, and that in itself is a great way to start the day.
